Job Title: VP Accounting – Transportation Finance
Department: Finance
Location: New York/Flexible/Hybrid Work Environment
Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed financial analyses for new transportation deals, including acquisitions and dispositions.
- Oversee all aspects of lease accounting, from initiation and modifications to revenue recognition and incentive management.
- Manage the entire lifecycle of asset transactions from acquisitions to sales, ensuring accurate financial recording and analysis.
- Review lease modifications, including amendments and restructurings.
- Oversee customer billing, collections, and interest calculations.
- Manage accounting for shipping, rail, and aircraft acquisitions and monitor transactions affecting assets.
- Oversee financial matters related to the procurement of transportation assets and monitor transactions impacting asset depreciation.
- Track airline and shipping fleet activities for significant events.
- Coordinate asset value recoverability updates and review quarterly lease adjustments.
- Assess aircraft value and maintenance for impairment and tax analyses.
- Facilitate financial analyses for aircraft or shipping transactions and collaborate with international teams.
- Prepare reports relating to investor queries.
Experience:
- Experience managing people.
- Strong understanding of commercial transportation finance, aviation finance, shipping finance or rail finance.
- Business-related degree along with either an MBA or CPA preferred.
- Strong accounting experience in the transportation finance sector.
- Excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, advanced analytical skills.
