Our client is a global leading in eCommerce based in Dublin who are looking for a Unix Systems Administrator. As the Unix Systems Administrator you'll focus on the implementation of security processes as part of their infrastructure team. This position would suit someone with Enterprise level experience in security procedures and server management.
What you'll get to do:
- Implement security procedures and manage server security processes, working on the standardisation of operating system hardening baselines.
- Work to identify issues and take appropriate action on anticipated problems.
- Work at Enterprise level using configuration management tools (Puppet).
- Write and administrate automation scripts.
- Manage VMware infrastructure for clients and hosts.
- Troubleshoot issues relating to Firewalls and Networks.
- Collaborate on security problems to identify and minimise issues.
- Take responsibility of tickets and escalate as necessary to fulfil the SLA.
What you'll need:
- Solid automation scripting experience in a Unix environment.
- Strong experience with Unix and Network security at Enterprise level.
- Expert Network and firewall troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent knowledge of network infrastructure, architecture including; routers, switches, firewalls, load-balancers, VPN and risks associated with layers.
- Experience managing network vulnerabilities including identification, containment and recovery.
- Knowledge of Enterprise configuration tools (Puppet), VMWare and Excel.
- Ability to explain risks to technical and non-technical staff.
This position is available on a contract basis to the end of 2017 with a view to extension/conversion to permanency.
