Aircraft Leasing Head of Technical
We have been retained by a Private Equity firm which is establishing a boutique aviation leasing platform to take advantage of ongoing opportunities in the aviation space. The platform will be looking to invest up to $1 Bn equity in aircraft. This is a unique opportunity in the market.
Responsibilities:
- Play a key role in aircraft evaluation, purchase and operating lease negotiations, MRO contracts, modification’s and prelease maintenance negotiations with MRO providers
- Responsibility for the technical management of the company’s portfolio of aircraft
- Responsible for managing acquisition, transitions, sales, on lease management, long term storage
- Set-up the technical department, establishing best practice and procedures and ensure its an integral part of the company.
- Pro-actively take actions mitigate the technical risk for the company’s portfolio of aircraft.
- Support company activities globally, to advise on all technical and asset management related matters
- Work with other members of the senior management team to develop the business offering
- Negotiate with OEMs and 3rd party providers and manage supplier relationships
- Travel at short notice
Requirements:
- 10+ years of relevant experience at a senior level ideally within aircraft leasing, airline or OEM/MRO engine management
- Comfortable operating in a high energy entrepreneurial work environment
- Strong relationships and broad experience of working with key supplies such as Boeing, Airbus, GE. PW, RR Safran etc. on technical specifications, BFE procurement, engine selection, Total Care packages and Warranties
- Good understanding of the regulatory environment
- Understanding of the general risks associated with aircraft leasing
- Entitled to work in Europe without restrictions
