Our client, an established and expanding financial services organisation are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Risk to be based in Dublin.
Reporting to the CEO, the successful applicant will lead and shape the compliance function and ensure that policies and procedures comply with all relevant legislation and codes of practice.
As such responsibilities and duties will include:- Ensuring that all regulatory reporting deadlines are met, including statutory financial statements, quarterly / annual returns to the Central Bank of Ireland. Develop relevant frameworks, metrics and reports for risk analysis of investment products and portfolios
- Monitoring and reporting findings to the Board and/or Risk Committee as appropriate.
- Ownership and management of the risk register, and in conjunction with the Risk Committee, contribution to the establishment of appropriate stress scenarios and management actions
- Analysis and interpretation of new and existing laws/regulations and providing relevant guidance and communication
- Analysis of proposed changes to business practices and advising Senior Management of Compliance implications
- Monitoring the internal/external audit process and ensuring compliance with internal controls & procedures
- Communication of Group compliance standards to the business
- Carrying out due diligence reviews and audits on Third Party Providers
- Represent the Company at relevant industry events
- Primary degree and/or relevant professional qualification.
- Extensive experience within a lending / banking environment, with demonstrable career progression in a range of assignments.
- Familiarity in use of main PC applications e.g. Excel, Word, Power point, MS Project
- Excellent technical knowledge and skills, particularly with regards to the organisation, processes and systems used in a lending / financial services business. Needs to have an excellent understanding of the ending transaction cycle
- Outstanding influencing and communication skills
