CAD Technician
An award winning lighting design practice based in Dublin 12, working in the entertainment, commercial and architectural lighting markets is seeking a CAD Technician for a permanent position within the company.
The role will involve assisting their team of lighting designers with direct input into live projects with a broad range of projects running at all times.
Responsibilities
- Create design plans and technical drawings (layouts, sections, elevations, details) for construction
- Produce 2D drawings from CAD files
- Produce Dialux Evo plans with Lighting Designer
- Produce cut sheets, designs, schedules, forms and records
- Liaise with the Engineering & Design team on a project
- Liaise with Main Contractors and Architects to ensure details are correct and to specification
- Update and revise various drawings as instructed
- Issue progress reports to Architects & Clients on a daily basis
- Work on a number of projects for high profile clients
- Be fully compliant with quality standards in CAD drawings
- Contribute to the process of creating as built documentation
Requirements:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D is essential while proficiency in Revit (or other 3D CAD software) and Dialux Evo is highly desirable.
- Photo-shop, Sketch Up and In Design would all be an advantage.
- Ideally have a basic understanding of wysiwyg software from Cast Lighting and Dialux Evo and a willingness to develop their use within the company.
- The candidate should also be able to interpret architectural and structural intent from contract documents and should have a very good design ethos and the ability to work well within a team, reporting to our lighting designers.
- Thorough working knowledge of MS Office
- Ability to work unsupervised and to a high standard
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
