An excellent opportunity is available with a high-profile corporate client at their office in Dublin City Centre. They are looking for a talented Microftsoft SQL Subject Matter Expert to join their IT team which supports critical business operations for transactions worth billions. This diverse position will suit an experienced DevOps Engineer with strong technical experience in a continuous delivery environment.
What you'll get to do:
- Perform a pivotal role as part of the IT team, providing a high level of engineering expertise.
- Apply experience in PowerShell and SQL within a high-performance environment.
- Be the SME on process automation, configuration management and release management.
- Continually look to automate, improve process efficiencies and adopt best DevOps practices.
- Collaborate with the internal IT team and outsourced resources on Application Delivery.
- Lead problem investigation within a high-availability environment.
- Rapidly adapt to business needs and learn new skills.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's Degree in IT or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in Information Systems Support and Operations, preferably in an outsourced environment.
- 2+ years of DevOps experience.
- Strong PowerShell skills, knowledge of other scripting languages an advantage.
- Excellent SQL and MS Server experience.
- Knowledge of Cloud environments (AWS, Azure etc.) an advantage.
- Strong ITIL expertise.
- An understanding of core security principles.
- Knowledge of Git/MS TFS and JIRA.
- Capable of working to tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to build relationships with external vendors.
