Aircraft Leasing Procurement Director
My client is a rapid-growth aircraft leasing company who are looking for a Procurement Director. This management process for new aircraft and parts procurement required for used aircraftis a key role in terms of managing all aspects of the configuration
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of transitioning aircraft managers for modification/retrofit programs
- Manage transitioning aircraft programs and supervise procurement managers
- Source parts for aircraft programs through Inventory Locator Service, well-known vendors, and original equipment manufacturers; evaluate and compare vendor quotes
- Review and negotiate quotes and contracts terms associated with an RFQ
- Team with the Technical and Engineering departments to evaluate aircraft reconfiguration needs, ensure equipment availability for target aircraft delivery dates, and identify alternate parts solutions
- Ensure timely shipment of parts to meet aircraft delivery schedule; communicate delays impacting aircraft delivery to the technical and engineering team
- Manage vendor and manufacturer relationships
- Obtain OEM certification and data requests
- Foster relationships with key vendor partners ensuring contract terms are being upheld and continual monitoring of performance
- Oversee the audit of imports to ensure they are compliant with all Customs requirements.
Experience:
- 3rd Level Qualification, Masters/MBA desirable
- 10-15 years of related experience
- Experience at an airline, aircraft lessor, or aviation industry vendors required
- Experience in Customs auditing and Inventory Management
- Strong knowledge of Customs laws, regulations, and practices effecting Customs compliance
- Knowledge of tags and certification requirements for various aircraft parts; working knowledge of Boeing and Airbus body types and interior design in relation to associated parts
- Knowledge of supplier industry as it applies to commercial aircraft
- Interface with Engineering and Technical group, MROs, and suppliers to ensure aircraft delivery is supported
- Develop and foster key relationships with vendors and manufacturers
